TechEd SPeedster by TechEd LLC
The TechEd Speedster is a great project. Students will follow step by step tutorials on how to build the car. They will use machines like the bandsaw, drillpress, scroll saw, and drill gun. They will also be wiring their car and soldering all the connection. Once completed they must get their car race ready by problem solving what is making the car run slow. They will be looking at wiring issues, friction, alignment, vibration and other problems that may occur. Students will also be creating a webpage for their car. You can see an example of that below.

Instructions:
You will need to follow my instructional videos found on the TechEd Site to build the car. Once completed you will need to reduce the friction as much as possible. Remember that any rotating object that is not balanced will increases friction. Once complete take it home to paint it. Do not get paint into the axle holes.
You will need to bring in three AA batteries for your car. I suggest that you have a new set when it comes time to race your car in the Double Elimination Terminate. Do not leave your batteries in your car or in the shop where they may grow legs.

Below is an example page for the TechED sPEEDSTER
tHIS is THE TechEd Speedster that I Made in Tech ClassEnter a description of what you had to do in order to build the car. This should include what tools and machines that you used. If you wish to add a gallery of images for the shop you could do that as well. You should also write how the electricity flows through the electrical circuit. You should also include your favorite and least favorite part of the project. I am looking for at least eight quality sentences for this section. I will be looking closely at this section, notice it is worth 35% of this assignment.
Here is a video that I made of my car.
This should contain clips of your car from different angles and racing down the track. There is a couple of rules. 1) Absolutely no faces, voices, or music are aloud to be in the video clips, period. 2) The entire video must be between 20 seconds and 30 sec long. It can contain several clips of your car going down the track if needed.
