Step 1: The Basics of SketchupLearn the basics of SketchUp by watching this educational video. You will learn how to open SketchUp, draw basic shapes, orbit, pan, and zoom. After watching the video be sure to copy the image and practice orbiting, zooming, and panning.

Step 2: Drawing AccuratelyLearn how to draw accurately with SketchUp. This video will teach you how to draw to scale with dimensions. You will need the large tool box found under the view -> toolbars tab for this activity. After watching this video practice what you learned by replicating the block. Pause and replay as necessary.

The tape measure tool is one of the more important tools to understand how to use. Practice by replicating the block drawn in the video. Pause and replay as necessary.
